SHIRAZ (Web Desk) Pakistan participated in the 43rd Fajr Film Festival in the historic city of Shiraz, Iran, with Federal Minister for Culture Aurangzeb Khan Khichi leading the delegation of prominent Pakistani filmmakers.
H.E. Aurangzeb Khan Khichi attended the festival as a special guest and delivered a keynote address emphasising the importance of joint film productions between Pakistan and Iran.
He highlighted that both countries share deep social, cultural, religious and brotherly ties, and noted that cinema plays a vital role in promoting cultural values. The minister added that the screening of Iranian films in Pakistan and Pakistani films in Iran would help strengthen people-to-people connections.
For the first time, three Pakistani films — Actor in Law, Umro Ayyar: A New Beginning, and Taxali Gate — were screened at the festival. The minister actively participated in various events, visited the festival venues and met officials at the Pakistan Pavilion.
During his visit, he also held a meeting with the Chairman of the Cinematic Foundation of Iran, inviting him to Pakistan to engage with stakeholders from the local cinema industry. The minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting and uplifting Pakistan’s film sector.
